Glory Be to God

Merry Christmas 2009

Another year has flown by, and here we are again remembering our family and friends and all the good times of holidays past.  We pray that this will be a blessed Christmas time for you and yours.

We have settled into our home of three years and did less traveling than in previous years.  That was in part because: 1. Mom requires more care now and is less able to get around; 2. We adopted another mini-schnauzer and traveling with two dogs is a bit more challenging; and 3. Lucinda moved from Pennsylvania into the McClure family home in Paragould, AR and so is nearer now – Melissa and John are living there too along with their big brother Will so that family is all back together again – and they have been visiting us more often.  It was an exciting challenge for Gary and me to have two teens living with us for over 6 months.

We did attend several family reunions, our high school reunions, and took a trip to Iowa to watch grandson Zack McGinnis run in a national track meet.  We also had several occasions to be with our other children and my brothers for short visits in Tennessee and Arkansas.

Now we are awaiting the birth of our 16th grandchild.  Alice Ann and Tim are expecting a new baby girl before Christmas Day.  They live in Little Rock with son Wesley (four) and daughter Betsy (two). The first week in January 2010, Mom will be moving to Elmhurst Extended Care Center, near my brother Stanley in Illinois.  This has been a difficult decision to make, but, one that I believe will be best for all of us.  She will be 92 on the 14th of January and requires a lot of assistance with everything.  Stan’s three children are all married and live not too far away.  They have not had much time to spend with her and now that they have young children of their own, they look forward to having Grandma nearer to them.  Mom’s new address there will be: EECC, 200 East Lake Street, Elmhurst, IL 60126; or cards may be sent c/o Rev. Stan Harding, 330 N. Ridgeland, Elmhurst, IL 60126.

We hope your holidays will be wonderful despite the economic conditions.  May God richly bless you in the year ahead.  Our web site is www.bgmcclure.com.  Come visit if you can.  Our E-mail addresses are gary@bgmcclure.com or bonnie@bgmcclure.com.  We use cell phones and our numbers are (Gary) 870-575-2446 or (Bonnie) 870-575-2444.
